Manchester, 9th November 2024 - Homobloc, the iconic celebration of LGBTQ+ unity and culture, is set to return to Depot Mayfield for its fifth edition this Autumn. If you haven't been then you are truly missing out, it's one of the best nights at The WHP in our opinion.
Leading the charge is the critically acclaimed Christine and the Queens, alongside hyperpop sensation Shygirl, making her Manchester debut. Swedish pop producer COBRAH and The Knife's Olof Dreijer are also set to perform, joined by a host of other incredible talents including Moonchild Sanelly, OneDa, and Alice Longyu Gao. DJ sets will feature Job Jobse b2b Saoirse, 2manydjs b2b Confidence Man DJs, Tiga, and more, while live performances from I.Jordan, Christeene, and LSDXOXO promise to keep the energy high.
The festival will take over Depot Mayfield’s three main stages and additional spaces like the Plant Room, the historical Star & Garter Pub, and The Loft. The latter will host an intimate takeover by Homoelectric, featuring Studio 54 icon Nicky Siano.
What we absolutely adore about Homobloc is that they always shine a light on emerging global LGBTQ+ artists. This year they are actually introducing a new stage dedicated to showcasing talents from across the scene. Expect to see performances from Kabeaushé, Maleigh Zan, Promi3e, and more.
The festival's programming is a collaborative effort with LGBTQ+ collectives such as Ghetto Fabulous and Make Me Feel,is going to be a spectacle. The Plant Room, curated by Make Me Feel, will feature NTS DJ ShyOne, Grove b2b Tash LC, and others. Absolutely sold.
Rod Connolly, Homobloc Promoter, expressed excitement about this year’s line-up, stating:
“Homobloc stands as a beacon of unity and celebration. Love is the message in our house, and we promise a safe haven to express queer joy, rage, and connection”.
Sophie Bee, Creative Director of Homobloc, added:
“It’s been a wild ride since the party started in 2019. This year, there are some really beautiful production moments that we can’t wait to share with our community.”
